My practice explores the shifting relationship between text, the body and systems of memory. Working across installation, light-based environments and research-based structures, I investigate how meaning is produced, erased and rewritten within both physical and digital space. In my works, text seeks a new form of embodied presence — a body that can survive translation, fragmentation and technological mediation.@Recent projects — Death of the Author, Journey of the Manuscript, Network Bodies and Bodies of the Text — examine the written word as a mutable organism: a manuscript that travels, mutates and outlives its origin. I treat language as a living body, subject to distortion, interference and reassembly, while the viewer becomes part of the network in which interpretation unfolds.@Alongside my solo practice, I am a member of the collective Extrapart. Within the broader field of art & science, my individual projects — including USBRUSH, Sweeping Pendulum, Child Network Support and Early Learning — explore sensory systems, computational behaviors and hybrid embodiments that arise at the intersection of technology and human experience. Some of these works have been presented within collaborative and group exhibition contexts.@Through the interplay of light, transparency and spatial rhythm, my works construct environments where reading becomes an embodied act and narratives dissolve into signals, gestures and traces. Each project reveals the fragile boundary between language, memory and presence, proposing new forms of textual and bodily existence.

Elena Shaura is an artist and writer working between London, Paris and Monaco. She is the author of the novel Brio, presented within Shaura Gallery, an author-led space conceived as a site where text, image and spatial experience coexist on equal terms.@The novel constitutes the conceptual and material core of Journey of the Manuscript, a long-term artistic research project examining the vulnerability of the manuscript and its transformation from private writing into public presence. All exhibition spaces of Shaura Gallery, including the series Death of the Author, Captive to the Book and Body for the Text / Bodies of the Text, are dedicated to this manuscript, which now enters its final state as a published book.@Works from Journey of the Manuscript have been exhibited in Paris, Luxembourg and London. A film documenting the project was presented at the Independent Film Festival SIFFA (London, November 2024). The project captures the threshold moment in which text ceases to belong solely to its author and begins to exist through readers, bodies and collective memory.@Shaura’s visual practice spans installation, light-based and projection environments, aluminium engravings and text-driven research. Her artistic series approach language as a living and unstable material — one that mutates, detaches from authorship and acquires new forms of embodiment.@Shaura has an academic background in philosophy. Her engagement with architecture has been grounded in the realisation and construction of contemporary architectural projects, developed in collaboration with architect Ivan Shalmin, an experience that informs the structural clarity and spatial thinking underlying both her visual work and literary practice.@Her achievements include the Golden Pen of Russia literary award (2019), scholarly publications in philosophy and literature (2021–2022), and participation in international exhibitions and competitions, including the Society of Women Artists Annual Open Exhibition (2023) and Art in the Age of AI (2024).@She is a member of extrapart group (Paris) and will participate with the group in Salon Comparaisons at the Grand Palais, Paris, in February.
