Statement

I am a London-based artist working predominately in graphite and charcoal on paper. Combining my studies in Psychology (BSc, MSc) with a love for the natural world, I create detailed botanical works, exploring the intersection of art, nature, and their restorative benefits. I am drawn to a monochromatic palette where I can capture the subtle nuances of form and texture in my botanical portraits.

Graphite was the first medium I connected with from a young age, excited by what I was able to create with the humble pencil and a piece of paper. Since then, I have been fixated on the qualities of graphite, the diversity of marks this medium can create and how it interacts with different paper surfaces.

I want my work to capture the beauty and fragility of life and our environment, reinforcing the need for us to protect our planet and to highlight the importance of immersing ourselves in nature and with art to improve our health and wellbeing.
