Biography

Harriet is an artist and printmaker living in the Midlands who started printmaking as a way to develop themes taken from her daily observational drawings. Often preferring artists’ sketches to finished paintings, she is constantly searching for ways to retain the light spontaneity of sketching but simultaneously evolve her sketchbook work. She is fascinated by movement within the still image and how the same subject matter can be repeated, rendering new projects and representations.

Working with drypoint, etching and aquatint and recently screen prints and rubber stamping, she was made a member of the Society of Women Artists in 2025. Her prints have regularly been displayed with SGFA, ING, Green & Stone, Ironbridge, RBSA and RE Printmakers and she was also a contestant on Sky’s Portrait Artist of the Year in 2022. She is currently writing a graphic novel about motherhood and the environment using Tetra-pak prints, which was long listed for the First Graphic Novel Award in 2025.
